Where the Forest Meets the Stars: A Review

Happy March everyone! I cannot wait for everyone to read this novel. On with the review!

Where the Forest Meets the Stars by Glendy Vanderah is an ideal read for those who are in need of a smart and resilient child and a sharp female lead. Joanna Teale, a woman who has suffered a great loss and has overcome her own battle with breast cancer. Joanna happens upon a small child who calls herself Ursa Major, like the constellation and claims to be from the stars and must witness five miracles. In her reluctance to let Ursa stay, Joanna finds herself drawn to the brilliant child.

When Joanna enlists the help of her neighbor, Gabe Nash, they find themselves growing attached to Ursa. Trying to focus on her graduate research on nesting birds. Joanna is on the verge of change, but she must discover that on her own as the summer moves on.

Not only is this a beautifully written novel, but there is also character development and each character has their own in-depth personality! Often, I find the same, repetitive characters with the same backstory. But here, we are given such different characters each with rich and deep personalities! Ursa is my absolute favorite character (I mean, he wouldn't love an adorable child?) because she is both intelligent and talented for such a young age.

Glendy Vanderah is both a talented writer and a bird biologist, earning her Master of Science degree at the University of Illinois. Having married and raised three children, Vanderah found herself writing again. Now, she is the author of two spectacular novels. Her second, The Light Through The Leaves, is set to be released on Apr. 1, 2021, and is available for pre-order now!

5 out of 5 stars.

Thanks for reading!

Until next time,
